FAQS

What age groups do you work with?

I work with clients of all ages, from infants to elderly adults. My experience spans pediatric feeding and speech development, adult communication disorders, and swallowing difficulties across the lifespan.

Do you accept insurance?

Not at this time. I currently operate as a private-pay practice, though I can provide you with detailed documentation for potential reimbursement from your insurance provider. I’m happy to discuss payment options and help make therapy as accessible as possible for your specific situation.

How long does therapy typically last?

The duration of therapy varies based on individual needs. Some clients may see significant improvement in just a few sessions, while others with more complex conditions may benefit from longer-term care. During your initial evaluation, I’ll provide a treatment plan with estimated timeframes.

What languages do you offer services in?

I provide therapy in English, Cantonese, and Mandarin, allowing clients to communicate in the language they feel most comfortable using.

What is FEES and how is it different from other swallowing tests?

Flexible Endoscopic Evaluation of Swallowing (FEES) is a specialized diagnostic procedure that uses a small camera to directly assess swallowing function. Unlike other tests, FEES provides real-time visualization while you eat and drink, allowing for a more accurate diagnosis and targeted treatment plan.

Do you provide telehealth services?

Not at this time. I currently focus on in-person sessions for comprehensive evaluation and therapy, but I’m happy to discuss options that might work best for your specific situation.

How should I prepare for my first appointment?

Please bring any relevant medical records, previous evaluation reports, and a list of current medications. For children, bringing familiar foods or feeding items can be helpful. Most importantly, come ready to discuss your concerns and goals.
